Facing Aging Together Workshop

Join us for a workshop on caring for aging parents scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., March 2 at Church of the Transfiguration.

This workshop is designed for anyone who is preparing to care for an aging parent, currently caring for an aging parent, considering their own aging and wanting to prepare, or is otherwise involved in aging! In other words, we’re talking about getting older, how to prepare, how to plan, and how to care. Our kick-off speaker is Suzanne Blankenship, whose book How to Take Care of Old People Without Losing Your Marbles is delightfully funny and helpful. In addition, we’ll have a team of medical, legal, psychological, and pastoral break-out sessions designed to facilitate conversations around the subject of aging.

From my own experience, I would have benefitted tremendously from a workshop like this before or during my work to relocate my  mother from Florida to Dallas following the death of her husband. I hope this workshop will bless as many as possible in their own families.

The workshop cost of $15 covers speakers and includes lunch. We will work with anyone for whom this cost is prohibitive. Registration is open online at http://www.transfiguration.net/event/common-ground/.
