New Beginnings Retreat 2016

New Beginnings offers students in junior high a chance to get away and refocus their spiritual lives. At this stage of their faith development, these young people are beginning to understand what it means to live a life of Christian gratitude and service. And, as they are working on developing their identity, it is very important that they know that God knows and loves them personally.

New Beginnings #51, for students in grades 6 though 8, will be October 21-23, 2016, at Camp All Saints, 418 Stanton Way, Pottsboro, TX, 75076. Similar to Happening and Cursillo, it is a spiritual renewal program especially designed for junior high kids. That this will be the 51st New Beginnings speaks to the popularity and success of this event.

It seeks to bring participants into a deeper relationship with Jesus, and to a deeper understanding of what it means to follow Him. There is a series of talks given by youth and adults, plus skits, songs, small group discussions, and games and activities both inside and out at beautiful Camp All Saints on the shores of Lake Texoma.

The program begins on Friday evening at 7:00 P.M. when participants arrive, and continues until Sunday afternoon, around 12:30 P.M. Sponsors do need to attend this event with their youth groups.

All participants, students and adults, need to bring: Both a Registration Form and a Release of Liability Form (download them here), a sleeping bag or twin size bedding, towel, toiletries, flashlight, seasonal clothing including closed-toed shoes, a refillable water bottle, and a snack to share.

To register for New Beginnings, contact Deacon Pam Dunbar, by October 10. The cost for this event is $80.00 per person. Do not bring checks or money; your church will be invoiced.
