New Construction for St. Barnabas

Pardon our dust, but St. Barnabas in Denton is under major construction. The church, built in 1933, has been deemed structurally unfit. So the church is using donated funds to build a new church, parish hall, classrooms, nursery and offices. The first phase, which is expected to be complete by Easter services, includes the church, a couple of classrooms and a nursery.

The church has an average Sunday attendance around 85, the Rev. Donald Johnson said, but expects to grow when they unveil the new church. “We are about three blocks from Texas Woman’s University,” he said. The construction “has generated a lot of excitement in the neighborhood.”
