The time is here for Resurrection. Join the Rev. Leslie Stewart and 50 faithful people in the coming weeks as they officially launch the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection in Plano.

This is an open call to everyone in the diocese to help grow the kingdom and support the efforts of this church plant. Everyone is encouraged to attend one or all of these next big events in the life of the church:

Sendoff: 11:15 a.m., February 19, at St. Philip’s, 6400 Stonebrook Parkway in Frisco;

Ash Wednesday service: 7 p.m., March 1, at Children’s Medical Center, 7601 Preston Road in Plano;

First Sunday service: 10:30 a.m., March 5, at Haun Elementary, 4500 Quincy Lane in Plano.

And Easter launch service: 10:30 a.m., April 16, at Haun Elementary, 4500 Quincy Lane in Plano.

Episcopal Church Presiding Bishop Michael Curry said, come one, come all to Church of the Resurrection in a recent promotion video to support Stewart and Resurrection. “As Jesus said, ‘come unto me all who are weary and heavy-laden and I will give you rest,’” Curry said. “Come and join a wonderful Christian community.”

While the church doesn’t yet have a building, the congregation will meet for Holy Eucharist and Sunday services beginning March 5. This plant began a few months ago while meeting in homes and restaurants and working together in service projects, such as building Little Free Libraries. “We are people on a mission, in service to our community,” Stewart said. “Our Holy Table is not yet in a church building. It is the table wherever we gather for conversation, transformation and fellowship. Come and join us.”
