Safeguarding God's People Training

01.25.18 | Homepage

St. Matthew's Cathedral and the Diocese of Dallas are committed to ensure its churches are a safe place for all people. How do we make sure our church is a safe place? The Diocese has established a training program, Safeguarding God's People, to educate our leaders about the important issues of child abuse, sexual exploitation, and sexual harassment of church workers.

This training is mandatory for all lay and ordained who minister to others. This includes: clergy, paid staff, vestry members, key lay leaders, and those having keys to church faciliites. While this training is mandatory for some, all are welcome to attend. The more parishioners who attend the training, the safer our community becomes.

The training is scheduled for Noon to 4 p.m., February 11, at St. Matthew's Cathedral in Dallas. A light lunch will be provided.

To ensure we have enough materials and lunch, please RSVP to Jeanne Webber at   by Sunday, February 4.
