Scholarships for Camp All Saints

    Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Greetings in Christ.  After our Lord was presented in the Temple, we read that - And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was on him.

Here is the perfect example of what we hope for in the formation of our own children.  We work by the grace of God toward this goal in our parishes and missions, but are grateful for every means God makes available toward this purpose.

Camp All Saints is a very important means to this end in our diocesan life. I am impressed with the skill and faithfulness that Dave Campbell has shown, as well as the team he has around him.  We saw more children enrolled last summer, including more who would need such an experience but would not have been able to attend without help.  We have a strong board with committed lay people in supporting roles.  Finally, we have improved the quality of the dining hall, and have more improvements to come.

Other years we have asked congregations to have a time to remember the camp ministry and to take up a collection around All Saints’ Sunday, but this year I suggest a moveable feast.  Please select a Sunday and ask for contributions toward our scholarship fund, toward which 100 percent of the offering will go.  If you would like someone to come and say a word about the Camp All Saints at the offering, please contact Dave. Also, if you would like information for your Sunday Bulletin, please email Dave Campbell at

I am grateful for your attention. Please continue to pray that God would use the camp toward the goal we read in the Presentation.

    Peace,

The Rt. Rev. Dr. George R. Sumner
