St. Anne's Opens Childcare Facility

St. Anne’s Episcopal Church in DeSoto has opened a new childcare center providing the community daycare for children age three months to 4-years-old. The center will offer developmentally appropriate programming for those in early childhood to reach their full potential.

Programming includes music, physical activity and sensory exploration for toddlers; science, Spanish, music, books, language, chapel and Godly Play for older children.

The center’s hours, 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., will be attractive to working parents in the DeSoto area, said Jocelyn Kennedy, director for the center. The curriculum will provide Christian formation and intellectual development for each child.

The programming aims to develop the child’s motor skills, intellectual capacity, creativity and spiritual formation. “The children are introduced to a curriculum which actively engages the students in activities using a variety of materials and ideas which are aligned with both national and state education standards.
