Getting Ready For General Convention
The General Convention is the governing body of The Episcopal Church that meets every three years. This year the meeting will be held June 23 through July 3 in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Convention is a bicameral legislature that includes the House of Deputies and House of Bishops. During the meeting, deputies and bishops review and vote on various issues before the Church.
The Episcopal Diocese of Dallas will be sending eight deputies and an alternate listed, below to participate in important discussions and votes regarding marriage, budget, election of the next Presiding Bishop and the report on re-imagining the Episcopal Church among other issues.
Bishop Lambert, Carrie Headington and William Murchison Jr.serve on the Evangelism and Communication Committee.
Canon Victoria Heard serves on the Program, Budget and Finance Committee.
The Very Rev. Dr. Neal Michell serves on the World Mission Committee.
The Rev. Mike Michie serves on the Congregational Vitality Committee.
