    The Rev. Canon Dr. Andrew White, Emeritus Vicar of St. George's, Baghdad: Known as the "Vicar of Baghdad," Canon White pastored one of the largest churches in Iraq from 2003 to 2014, when the Archbishop of Canterbury ordered his departure for the sake of security. Canon White is also President of the Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East, which he established to provide spiritual and material relief to refugees displaced by violent upheaval. He works closely with key religious leaders toward bringing peace and reconciliation in the Middle East. 

    Previously, Canon White served as the Director of International Ministry for the Diocese and Cathedral of Coventry, and as the Archbishop of Canterbury's special envoy to the Middle East. Before becoming a priest, Canon White qualified as an Operating Department Practitioner at St. Thomas' Hospital. He trained for ordination at Ridley Hall, Cambridge, and studied at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Canon White is also an author and several of his books will be available for purchase in the Incarnation Bookstore.
