Church Plant Mission
Church planting encourages the body of Christ, but it can be lonely and difficult work. Consider in the New Year, helping church plant Resurrection of Plano. The church currently houses out of an elementary gymnasium and has an average Sunday attendance, of 45, but growing.
Here’s how to help: Bring a group of people, once a month or every six weeks, to Sunday service. This is helpful because when visitors attend the church for the first time, they will see a full house of joyous Episcopalians. Perhaps bring a Sunday school class, Bible study group or young adult ministry and commit to once a month for four months.
Resurrection is also looking for pay someone to work in the nursery for a few hours a week, primarily on Sunday morning during service, and a part-time music director.
The church planters were recently out with Bishop George Sumner during a Christmas parade in Plano where they invited people to Sunday worship, and pushed an empty pew on rollers with a sign saying, “We have room for you.”
The church has been active in the community with mission projects, Bible studies, social runs and a variety of other activities.
