Carrie Boren Headington, Missioner for Evangelism for the diocese, will be leading a new series titled "Exploring the Big Questions of Faith," at St. Matthew's Cathedral in Dallas. She has two graduate degrees in Theology from Oxford University, and is a dynamic speaker who communicates the Gospel locally, nationally and internationally. The series is scheduled for 9:35 a.m. on Sundays, September 6 through Oct. 18.

We all have questions about life, purpose, and God. The number of Americans who believe in God or some higher power is still over 90% yet now more than ever statistics show that one-fifth of the U.S. population and 1 in 3 people under 30 said they have no religious affiliation. Most Americans believe in God but have questions of who or what He is and how God can be known.

Headington's speaker series is part of the Explore God movement. This September, the diocese and many of its parishes are joining more than 300 churches from across the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex to provide spaces for people to explore God. We will be meeting in coffee shops, pubs, churches, and local hang outs leadings small group discussions on some of life’s biggest questions from a Christian perspective.

The top seven questions are:

1. Does life have a purpose?
2. Is there a God?
3. Does God allow pain and suffering?
4. Is Christianity too narrow?
5. Is Jesus really God?
6. Is the Bible Reliable?
7. Can I know God personally?

You might have seen the billboards inviting people to explore God with the website. All people have to do is go to the website and find the church nearest them that is offering the program. The discussion leaders from parishes will use the video content provided online.
