Food Resources to Share With Those in Need
Dear Diocesan Parishes,
In light of Covid 19, food insecurity is at precedented levels--- beyond what anyone imagined. With many Texans still out of work, food pantries are seeing levels of need significantly above their average and may not be able to meet the increased demand. Through my long-term involvement with the Dallas Coalition for Hunger Solutions,I have been made aware of many community resources addressing poverty and food insecurity.
The attached document lists some available food resources, mostly in Dallas County. Should your congregation have a request for additional resources in your area, please let me know.
In addition, Pam Jamieson, ED of the Episcopal Foundation of Dallas and I are working on a Foundation sponsored event to bring congregations together to learn about more available community resources as well as grant writing techniques. Hopefully this event will be scheduled before the end of the year.
