The newly formed Order of Evangelists for the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas held their first annual retreat last weekend. At this retreat, Bishop Sumner Commissioned four new lay evangelists into the Order: Molly Wren from St. Andrews McKinney; Jolayne LaCoeur from St. David’s in Denton; Kirsti Wilson from Saint Michael and All Angels; and Mary Hendrix from St. Phillips in Frisco. Author Mary Schaller, The 9 Arts of Spiritual Conversations, led the day. The Order of Evangelists is dedicated to Three Rules of life: 1) Prayer for the harvest and the church’s mission, 2) Faith sharing in daily life, and 3) Mission leadership- being a catalyst for evangelism in the local parish.
