The Rev. David M. Faulkner joins Our Merciful Saviour, Kafuman as its new vicar in addition to continuing to serve as Rector of Good Shepherd, Terrell. The two churches have a history of collaborative ministry.
Faulkner is a son of the Diocese of Dallas, having served churches in Heath/Rockwall, Texarkana, the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and now Terrell and Kaufman. He and his wife, Laura, have a longtime love for the eastern side of the diocese and are excited about the growth that is coming to Kaufman Country as the metroplex rapidly expands.
Having served churches and communities of various sizes, Father David said he is well versed in adapting ministry to local contexts. He noted that there is incredible potential as Kaufman and Terrell grow together in a shared mission of worshipping Christ and making Him known throughout Kaufman County.
Faulkner said he is particularly excited about starting a combined student group of students from both churches. "It's a great thing that the congregations can do together," he said, "but where both groups would be too small to thrive on their own."
Faulkner's first Sunday at the altar at Our Merciful Saviour will be September 16. He said he looks forward to greeting his new folks in Kaufman before heading up State Highway 34 to worship with the good people of Good Shepherd, Terrell.
Please keep the Faulkners, Good Shepherd, Terrell, and Our Merciful Saviour, Kaufman, in your prayers as they enter this new exciting chapter of shared ministry in Kaufman County for the expansion of the Kingdom of God.
