Confirmation Retreat

Confirmation retreat brought a full house of 21 confirmands to a camp at Lake Texoma last weekend where they learned more about their baptismal covenant and the promises they make when being confirmed. Bishop Rob Price, Deacon Katy Gerber and clergy from throughout the diocese taught lessons, made s'mores by the campfire and led Holy Eucharist on Sunday.

"The kids got the full immersive White Board experience, including a free-hand map of the Mediterranean," Price joked. "It was a lot of fun and the kids were great. I'm super impressed at the number of clergy who were there."

The youth came from St. William Laud, Incarnation, St. Philip's in Frisco, San Marcos, St. John's in Pottsboro, St. Mary's and St. Paul in Waxahachie.

The kids participated in a Book of Common Prayer Scavenger Hunt where they had to answer several questions. Here is a sample: What liturgical year are we currently in? What scriptures will we read on Palm Sunday? When was the first Book of Common Prayer written?

Bishop Price also received Lisa Casimir into the Episcopal Church.
