Scout me in. After a long hiatus, Saint James in Texarkana is once again the Chartered Organization of Scout units through the Caddo Area Council, Boy Scouts of America.  Over the last 18 months, the BSA has opened its core traditional programs, Cub Scouting and Boy Scouting, to girls who want to take part in an outdoor-focused ethics, leadership. and outdoor skills development program like the one their brothers have participated in for many years.

Haha, good one.  Check out St. Matthias’ Facebook page for witty posts: “The body of Christ. You Are What You Eat; Spoiler Alert: The Good Guy Wins; and Never Give up! Remember Moses Was Once a Basket Case. Clever and fun St. Matthias!

Be prepared in an emergency. St. Thomas the Apostle in Dallas is offering a “Stop the Bleed” course after their October 13 worship service. The course aims to train those with no medical background on how to stop an injured person’s bleeding, in an emergency, until first responders arrive.

Speaking of first responders. If you are a veteran or first responder who has experienced trauma, Warrior Church is for you and your family. Because trauma lives in the body, this unique monthly service is wrapped around a 45-minute HIIT workout at Soldierfit in Frisco, through Church of the Resurrection in Plano.
