You Say Tomato, I say Tamale: Join Holy Trinity in Garland for a tamale-making workshop, just in time for holiday gift-giving. The workshop is two days, starting at 11 a.m., December 13, and 9 a.m. on December 14. The first day is prep work including making masa and the filling, while the second day is assembly and steaming. The church is asking for a donation of $30, and those who sign up will make their own two-dozen tamales to take home. Christmas in a Small Town - Homes Tour: The Portmess House, owned and used by Good Shepherd in Terrell, is one of six featured houses on Terrell’s Social Science Club’s Christmas Homes Tour. The congregation is delighted to open its doors to the community and make new connections and friends.
Clean Slate: St. Stephen’s in Sherman has a new composition slate roof on the historic church that was built in 1909. The roof had been damaged in a storm a couple of years ago. It took two months for workers to finish the work, but now it’s complete, functional and beautiful.
