St. Thomas plans to reach out to the community this Ash Wednesday, March 1, with Ashes to Go scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. in the north parking lot at the church, 6525 Inwood Road in Dallas. The outreach is aimed at those driving by who haven't been to church in a while, in hope they will reconnect on Ash Wednesday and perhaps start attending, the Rev. Joy Daley said. "I've told our parishioners that we are doing this as an outreach, and they are expected to attend Ash Wednesday service at Noon or 7 p.m.," she said. "We've never tried this before so we will see how it goes."
