Mission Moment: Crayons and Toilet Paper

Canon Carrie Headington and Logan Hurst

A great way to volunteer from a distance and get the whole family involved this summer is to participate in our Crayons and Toilet Paper Initiative.

CRAYONS: PICTURES FOR PEOPLE IN LINE AT LOCAL CHURCH FOOD PANTRIES. Our parishes and partner churches have asked children and adults to paint, draw, and color pictures with a positive note for people who go through the food lines this summer. It is a great way to expose your children to the needs of others. For adults, coloring is known to reduce stress. These pictures will be given to people as they receive groceries as a sign of God’s love and beauty.

TOILET PAPER. The Episcopal Diocese of Dallas is partnering in feeding homeless people this summer in South Dallas at the Cornerstone Kitchen. cornerstonedallas.org.EDOD is collecting 3-foot sections  of toilet paper in individual ziplock baggies.

Please drop off your offering of pictures and drawings and/or toilet paper in baggies, Thursday mornings at St. Matthew’s Cathedral – 5100 Ross Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75206 from 8:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. (A tote collecting the drawings and baggies - will be in the circle drive weekly in front of the bell) If you have questions contact Logan Hurst .
