    What is Happening?

Happening – A Christian Experience is a weekend retreat for Senior High students in grades 9, 10. 11 or 12. Its purpose is to be one of the instruments within the Anglican Tradition to renew the Christian Church in the power of the Holy Spirit, in order that the Church may respond more readily to its call to spread the Kingdom of God throughout the world. It seeks to achieve this purpose by bringing young persons and adults to a more fulfilling personal knowledge of and relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, and to a deeper level of commitment and apostleship. Through various activities such as talks, large and small groups, music, and worship, the Happening experience readies teenage Christian leaders to share with their peers a living experience of what is fundamental to being a Christian.

Happening is a Christian experience presented by teenagers for teenagers with the help of clergy and lay adult leadership. Every diocesan Happening program operates under the authority of its diocesan bishop or Ecclesiastical Authority. The retreat is sponsored by the Diocese of Dallas Youth Commission and led by a team of youth and adults from around the diocese
