Turner has a PhD from Princeton University, is an Episcopal priest and the author or editor of several books, including The Crisis of Moral Teaching in the Episcopal Church. Now retired, he previously served as professor of Christian ethics at the General Theological Seminary in New York and as dean of Berkeley Divinity School at Yale University. More recently, he served as interim dean and president of Seminary of the Southwest and interim rector at Church of the Incarnation in Dallas, Texas.
