Mission Update: Operation Peanut Butter

Every month through 2021, The Episcopal Diocese of Dallas is giving $2,500 in grants to EDOD parish food ministries. In September, St. Peter's McKinney received a grant and used it for peanut butter distribution, and San Francisco de Asis used it for its ongoing food distributions.

The Rev. Perry Mullins said the Peanut Butter distribution was a success. "We have given out 1,489 jars of peanut butter to our food pantry, which has been an incredible help to those in need right now! Thank you so much for the opportunity to do that," he said. "The Seed Project also used some of the money to help with their chicken coop project to distribute fresh eggs to those in need."

The Episcopal Diocese of Dallas Partnered with the Greater Dallas Coalition – a gathering of local churches in the Southern Sector (including St. Augustine’s Oak Cliff) in providing the following for the month of September. At every food distribution people receive food, prayer and a listening ear.

112 Pallets of fresh produce (each box weighing 18 pounds)

    6,200 lbs. of canned fruit

    264 whole chickens

    7,168 families fed

    28,672 individuals impacted
