Spiritual Retreat Goes on the Road
The Episcopal Diocese of Dallas has been expanding its contemplation ministry by offering new Stanton Center classes and diocesan spiritual retreats. These programs are led by the Rt. Rev. Michael Smith, Canon Carrie Headington, the Rev. Bob Corley and spiritual director Pat Stone.
And now, the contemplation team is leading a spiritual retreat in the Diocese of Albany where Bishop Smith is serving as a temporary bishop until that diocese elects a new bishop. Bringing together the two dioceses is a way to share Christ's love and grow deeper in our faith, Headington said. "It's a joy to gather with those in Albany diocese who love the Lord and want to dedicate this time with us for prayer, reflection, community and rest," she said.
The contemplation ministry is also working to offer a list of nearby spiritual directors to make the service more accessible to others, and of course, offers spiritual retreats in North Texas including an upcoming retreat at the Prothro Center in Pottsboro, that will focus on Benedictine spirituality through prayer, evangelism and service.
