The Rev. Dr. Samira Page Vicar at Holy Nativity
Grace Community, a Farsi-language mission of the diocese is now worshipping at Holy Nativity Episcopal Church in Plano, and is led by the Rev. Dr. Samira Izadi Page. The congregation consists mostly of persecuted Iranian Christians who now reside in North Texas.
The mission shares the church building with Holy Nativity, also led by Page, and with the Spanish-language congregation Santa Natividad led by the Rev. Noe Mendez.
Page was called to serve at Holy Nativity at the beginning of the Covid 19 pandemic and has not yet met the congregation in person. When church life returns to in-person gathering, Page says the English-speaking Holy Nativity and the Farsi-speaking Grace Community parishioners will lift each other up and evangelize together.
For the past few months, Page said they have been working on updating and cleaning the church building, painting walls, fixing floors, evaluating the electronic system and balancing the budget. They also have formed a zoom Bible study that meets weekly, and are forming a prayer team for Holy Nativity that will meet weekly. “Our goals are to grow Holy Nativity and Grace Community,” Page said.
