Everyone is called to serve the Church by God. But discerning that call, whether it is to become an acolyte, lead a Bible study, go on a mission or move toward holy orders, can be challenging. That’s why the Commission on Ministry is offering a discernment program geared toward laity in the church who feel the Holy Spirit’s tug of the heart but are not sure what to do next.

The program, You Are Called, which lasts five weeks, includes two meetings (or can be done online), a weekly assignment, a spiritual gifts assessment with feedback, and daily prayer, reflection and journaling.  Assignments are generated from the book, Gordon T. Smith, Consider Your Calling, which participants should purchase. The content for the program will be delivered electronically, through emails, and edod.com. Some parish congregations are going through the program together. If your would like to join contact Sandy Mebus .
