2019 Pre-Convention Leadership and Study Day

 Greetings Clergy, Convention Delegates and Alternates, 

We wanted to be sure you were aware of this year's Pre-Convention Leadership and Study Day on Friday, Nov. 1, 2019, from 10:00am-3:00pm at St. Matthew's Cathedral, Dallas.  Lunch will be provided, and there is no cost to attend. 

All Canonically Resident, Active clergy in the diocese are required to attend.  Retired and licensed clergy as well as Lay Delgates/Alternates to convention are cordially invited to attend.  If you are a retired or licensed clergy or lay delegate/alternate and plan on coming, please contact Laura Faulkner ( or 214-826-8310) by Friday, Oct. 18, to register so we can plan accordingly for lunch. 

This year, our speaker will be the Very Rev. Dr. Leander Harding, Dean of the Cathedral of All Saints in Albany, NY.  He will lead us in two plenary talks and one breakout session on Modernity and Mission and how these ideas have been implemented the Cathedral in Albany.   

In addition to his talks, we will also hear from our convention preacher, the Rt. Rev. Dr. Todd McGregor, Bishop of Madagascar, and his wife, the Rev. Dr. Patsy McGregor on their ministry and mission in that extremely impoverished nation.   

Other breakout session speakers include the Very Rev. Robert Price, Dean of St. Matthew's, speaking on Principled Pastors: Resources and Threats to Thoughtful Ministry, and Canon Carrie Headington, Canon Evangelist for the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas, leading a session on Evangelism in a Pluralist Society: The Newbigin Vision.  Biographical information for all speakers is below.
