Who Doesn’t Love a Needlepoint Kneeler? At St. Luke’s in Dallas, the consecration of the needlepoint kneelers in the church, a project that has taken 20 years to complete, has been postponed until early next year because of the tornado damage. None of the kneelers were damaged in the storm. Thanks be to God! 

Nothing Says Thanksgiving Better Than This … Join Gateway of Grace and numerous volunteers as they serve Thanksgiving Day Dinner to refugee families from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Cathedral, 5100 Ross Avenue in Dallas. Not only is it spiritually rewarding, it’s a good party with good food!

Blessed Bathrooms: Join St. Andrew’s in Farmer’s Branch for a new construction blessing. The parish has a new vestibule, restrooms and parking lots. The church plans to celebrate with a 7 p.m., service, Dec. 6, with Bishop George Sumner celebrating and Bishop James Stanton preaching.  Food and entertainment provided for those who RSPV to the Rev. James Detrich.

Montessori Mamas and Papas: From 6 to 7:30 p.m., November 15, at Redeemer in Irving Sonnie McFarland, author of Montessori Parenting, as well as author of Honoring the Light of the Child, will talk about parenting.  Tickets are $25.00 / person and can be purchased here– be sure to choose the Montessori Parenting Class.

Race, Theology, Prayer and the Arts

Dialogue on Racism: Is racism personal or structural sin? Join Incarnation at 6:15 p.m., October 20 for a theological discussion led by the Rev. Dr. Gerald McKenny who teaches at the University of Notre Dame. He is a retired minister in the Presbyterian Church and is licensed in the Episcopal Diocese of Northern Indiana. 

Canon-blast Bible study: St. Philip's in Frisco hosts a lunchtime Bible study every Wednesday. Some of the teachers include Canon Michael Gilton, Canon Jordan Hylden and Canon Victor Austin. Cool Prayer App: Check out the Church of England's Daily Prayer App for an easy, electronic prayer option. News reports say the app has been used 5 million times in the past year, and tracking records indicate they use the app for about 8 minutes. 

Cathedral ART, y'all! St. Matthew's Cathedral offers a robust arts program. Starting on November 14 through January 3, the church's gallery will show the photographic works of Carolyn Brown of the music and musicians in the painted ceilings of Michoacan. Come at 6 p.m., November 14 and meet the artist during a reception. Free parking and admission.
